GET INVOLVED

Become involved in God's wonderful work among the people of Mozambique!
On a promotional video, Reverend Kruger du Preez, says: 'After years of destruction, the doors in Mozambique are open as never before... Get involved; we need your prayers, we need your financial support. This may be your best Kingdom investment ever.'

HEFSIBA is a faith endeavour and largely dependent on donations from congregations and individuals. The Lord has always faithfully provided. We opened our new training building for men and women in 2002; upgraded our library and Computer room, built en bought new houses for lecturers etc.

                  Student accommodation

God provided and through His faithful children He will continue to do so!

NEEDS:
  • Subsidies for the salaries of Mozambican lecturers – about USA $300 per month.

  • Student bursaries: USA $1 700 per year for a couple to study fulltime and $570 for extramural students.

  • Theological books (especialliy Portuguese) are needed for the library.

  • Two houses for lecturers: USA $20 000 per house (approximately)

  • Student houses need upgrading.

PROJECTS

  • HIV/Aids Project - combating the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Mozambique . According to Government statistics 42% of the population in this province is infected. Students are trained to be facilitators in combating this disease. The course is accredited by NetACT, an organisation of sub-Saharan theological schools, and students receive certificates upon successful completion of the course. HEFSIBA works in close relationship with other NGO’s and with the government.
  • Children’s projects: HEFSIBA is well known for the emphasis it places on children and therefore children’s ministry forms an integral part of the student curriculum. HEFSIBA Takes a holistic approach towards children. Students and fulltime staff work amongst the pre-school and primary school children of students

  • Community Development: Realising the necessity of community development, Hefsiba has started a course in entrepreneurship, including community development. The course material equals the standards of the University of the Northwest (the former Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education). The emphasis is on creativity, entrepreneurial skills and community dynamics. In collaboration with the Department of Development and Poverty alleviation of the Reformed Church of Mozambique (IRM) students study and help with projects such as:

  • Computer literacy. HEFSIBA is known amongst the community for the effective way of teaching students and members of the community computer literacy. HEFSIBA is in need of a bigger centre and more computers.
